Presentations

Did you see me present at a conference and want to learn how to get me to your school? I am available to lead 1-1.5 hour sessions (faculty meetings), 1/2 day sessions, and full day sessions on a limited basis.

My presentations are currently focusing on implementing Standards-Based Grading in your classroom.

Making the Shift to Standards-Based Grading

Can the way you organize your grade book make you a better teacher? This session on standards-based grading will show how a shift in your philosophy about grades and grading can help make you a more focused and effective teacher. If you’ve ever tried make a grading change like not allowing zeroes, giving incompletes, or offering retakes, but it’s felt like something’s missing, standards-based grading is the tool that changes things from “sounding good in theory” to making your program more effective. Other related topics will include using Data-Driven Decision-Making to focus instruction, as well as considerations for making the shift from State Standards to Common Core Assessments.
