Students
The more I know about my students, the more I care, the more I can find common ground, and the more I can find something to motivate them. The same works both ways. Sure, asking me about last week's hike is a great way to get me off task for 10 minutes, but I'll let you in on a secret. Usually, when you get me off task, it's really a head fake. You're learning something, you just don't know it!
Friends and Family
I love few things more than sharing time outside with my family and friends. A close second is sharing pictures of time outside with my family and friends with, well, my family and friends.
Myself
As I'm starting to age a little, I think back on all of the experiences I've had, and realize I hardly remember anything. I have snippets and fragments and occassional A-ha! moments, but most of the details are fuzzy. Accordingly, I'm also maintaining this page to help me record details and images to remind me of where I've been and motivate me for where I'm going... As my wife and I always tease, we take pictures anytime we do anything, primarily as photographic evidence that our kids had a great childhood, just in case they grow up to think otherwise!
